The most important characteristic of Vincentian service is the offer of a warm
and respectful welcome to those in need.  We strive to remember this as we
engage in our food ministry, our visits to Haven for Hope, and our emergency
aid to neighbors who find themselves in need.

Innocent Food Ministry

Vincentians recognize that the nourishing bags of food they distribute come from the generosity of parishioners and of students and staff at St. Peter's School. Thanks to this collaboration, our parish Society of St. Vincent de Paul is able to order supplies from the San Antonio Food Bank and from local vendors.

Innocent Haven for Hope Ministry

Vincentians at St. Peter's follow a long tradition of serving meals to homeless persons. Under the direction of
Kathleen Putnam, groups depart from the parish parking lot at 4:15 the fourth Friday of each month.
They serve approximately 300 persons at St. Vinny's Bistro in Haven for hope.

 Emergency Assistance

Emergency assistance is provided with rent, utilities, and medicines, as funds permit.
A particular strength of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is the ability to network with other conferences to meet needs that exceed the resources of a single conference.
Also, we maintain up-to-date referral lists with contact information about other agencies and sources of aid.
